Passed away peacefully with family at her side at Grand River Hospital on Sunday, April 22, 2018 at the age of 92.
Born June 11, 1925 she was the oldest of 8 children. A dear sister of Bobby Livingstone, Anne Livingstone, Maureen Voisin and Brian Livingstone. Predeceased by her parents James and Regina Livingstone, brothers James (Mickey) Livingstone, Tommy Livingstone, and sister Patricia Psutka.
Married Sept 25, 1948, she, with her husband Chuck, who predeceased her in 1994 raised a family of their own and started a whole clan of Collins' - 7 children - daughters Charlotte Wilson and Barb Vodicka (Al) and sons Terry (Inga), Ric who predeceased her in 1996 (Linda), Dan (Patty), Chris (Janice) and Tim (Betty), 21 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. She will be lovingly remembered by all whose lives she touched with her compassionate and caring spirit. She was a woman of strong faith, who together with Chuck, were among the founding members of St Teresa of Avila Roman Catholic Church in Kitchener. Mary was also a member of the St Teresa's Catholic Women's League (CWL) for 60 years holding positions on the executive including president. A special thank you to all the staff at Parkwood Mennonite Home - Assisted Living, who were so caring during her 3 years there and to the doctors and nurses at Grand River Hospital for their compassionate care. Mary's family will receive relatives and friends from 3-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. (prayers at 8 p.m.) on Thursday, April 26, 2018 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St, Kitchener. Prayers will be offered in the funeral home chapel at 10:20 a.m. on Friday, April 27, 2018 followed by Mass of Christian Burial celebrated by Fr. Toby Collins at St. Teresa of Avila Roman Catholic Church, 44 Leonard St. Kitchener at 11:00 a.m. Interment at Woodland Cemetery, Kitchener following Mass. A reception to follow interment at Conestoga Place, 110 Manitou Dr. Kitchener. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to St. Teresa of Avila - St. Vincent de Paul Society.
