Obituary for Catherine Elizabeth Goss (Paul)

Catherine Elizabeth Goss (Paul)
Goss, Catherine
It is with great sorrow that we announce, after a long and full life, the passing of our beautiful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Catherine Goss, at St. Mary’s Hospital on Monday, February 19, 2018. She was surrounded by the love of her family. Our "Kay", was the beloved wife of the late Peter Goss, loving mother to Donna Marie (Don) and Bill (Linda), doting grandmother to Caroline (Ian), Jason (Andrea), Lisa (Leo), Julie (Tyler), and Jenny (Tory), and great-grandmother to Jack, Max, Jasmine, Stella, Kylie, Colten, Kate, Joey, Marilynn, Ashley, Reggie, and Emerson.
Kay was born on August 26, 1923. Kay married our handsome father and grandfather Peter, affectionately known as “Peeps” on June 19, 1942. Kay and Peeps made their home a place filled with love, delicious food, laughter, warmth and happiness making for life-long memories of Holidays and family gatherings. A visit to Kay’s home was always met with a welcome that was warm beyond description. Her cooking was treasured among her family…and everyone who shared her table. We will all remember her unbelievable breaded pork, chocolate birthday cake, thanksgiving dressing we always fought over and many other “Kay” dishes. She and Peeps had an active and full social life with friends and neighbours and developed many strong, lifetime friendships. Kay and Peeps were both gardeners who took nearly the same care growing their gardens as they did growing their family. Kay’s kindness and generosity of spirit extended beyond our family, to helping others any way she could through her Parish, St. Agnes, where she was a faithful member. Until the end of her 94 years, Kay was always impeccably dressed with a sharper memory than all of us. Her memory defied description, and we all reveled in her memories and stories of days gone by, told with detail that amazed us all. We can't begin to express how much she will be missed.
A Mass will be held at St. Agnes RC Church, 75 Bluevale St. North, Waterloo on Friday, February 23, 2018 at 11 a.m. Please join the family for a time of fellowship and a reception in the church hall following the Mass. Cremation has taken a place. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Mary's Hospital Foundation or St. Agnes RC Church (cards available at Henry Walser Funeral Home).
