Ruth (Stevenson) Cressman-English born November 26, 1937 in Arnprior, Ontario to John & Naomi Stevenson.
In the mid 1940's her family moved to Kitchener, ON where she spent her school and early working years. There she met her husband Jim Cressman and were married September 6, 1958. In 1964, Jim and Ruth decided to leave Ontario and relocate to Long Beach, CA, then in 1988 moved to Laguna Niguel, CA. They enjoyed working and creating a welcoming home for the 43 years they were married. Jim passed away December 2001. In 2009 Ruth reconnected with an old school chum from Kitchener, ON - Jim English and they got married in 2012. They chose NY summers and CA winters. Jim bought an RV Motor Home and they travelled throughout the US and Canada, played music together and really enjoyed their mobile home park "Almar Acres" in Desert Hot Springs, CA with a lot of wonderful friends. Jim English died October 2017 and shortly after Ruth was diagnosed with a return of breast cancer which originated in 1994. Ruth passed away on February 3, 2018 in Palm Springs, CA surrounded by several family members.
Ruth is survived by an Aunt, Delores (Dee) Bedwell (Estero, FL), her brothers-in-law Earl Cressman (Cobourg, ON) and Clare Cressman (Kitchener, ON), her sister-in-law Mary Schouw (Naples, FL), three nieces - Nancy Cressman-Prior (The Woodlands, TX), Patty Ann Cressman-Parsons (Kitchener, ON) & Jody Stevenson (Newport Beach, CA), seven nephews - Delbert Cressman (Cobourg, ON), Dale Cressman (Zurich, ON), Dwight Cressman (Colborne, ON), Charles Cressman (Miami, FL) Donald Cressman (Cobourg, ON), Paul Cressman (Kitchener, ON) & Robyn Cressman (Kitchener, ON), three step children - Tanya English-Sullivan (Canmore, AB), Cynthia English-Bentzen (London, ON) & Stephen English (Calgary, AB) and her beloved little dog, Zoi (Desert Hot Springs, CA). She will be missed by a host of cousins and friends as well.
Ruth's family will receive relatives and friends from 11:00 a.m. - 12:15 p.m. on Saturday, March 10, 2018 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. Memorial Service will be held in the funeral home chapel 12:30 p.m. followed by a reception. Interment at Mannheim Mennonite Cemetery. Private Cremation has taken place.
