Condolence: I remember Norman as funny, smart and sincere. I was lucky to meet and work with him in 1998-1999 in Shanghai. He taught me a lot about life and humor. Norman, thank you for being you. You made those around you smile.

Condolence: In 2005, we met Norman and Jamie in Halifax. From then on, we started our 13 year journey of friendship. We moved to Shanghai, Norman visited my home in shanghai, we moved to Toronto, Norman visited me in Toronto. Norman is a good husband and father. He worked hard to support his family. He worked in China and US as an English teacher; he opened a coffee shop to achieve his dream, he finally became a truck driver and passed away on his way work. I was shocked when I heard this sadness news. God takes you to the heaven so that you can be released from the hard work, you don't need to get up at 4:00am in the morning to look after the coffee shop. We will miss you forever.

Your best friend Luo Jun

Condolence: With great sadness i wish to share some fond memories of Norman
from the first time i walked into Sam the Record Man in Sydney, Nova Scotia, Norman and i began a 40 year friendship, now ended by his untimely passing.
Norman had a MENSA IQ, yet had to find just the right thing in life to do. Starting as a bush pilot, to the record store franchise owner, then an independent owner, touring with me as Canadian managers of Foster and Allen tours, on to a Lexus salesman,an educator teaching foreign language to Korean and Chinese students, both in those countries and here in Bowling Green Ohio and North Dakota, followed by establishing a coffee shop in Kitchener and then on to a CDL driving big rigs thousands of miles a month, he never stopped or gave in as many would have done.
Possessed of a wry wit, under the most trying of circumstances he rose up when down to move forward throughout his life.
In his own special way he loved Jamie, Elaina, and Leela, who despite how difficult these last few weeks have been, finally have some closure.
Lynne and I have you in our thoughts constantly.

Condolence: I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Mr. Leadbeater. I only knew him as the wonderful gentle and welcoming host at the cafe he and Jamie ran on Queen Street. They went out of their way for me on more than one occasion. In 2012 they hosted my birthday party at the last minute after my home was damaged. They also let me use a cafe table as a work space when I couldn't get in to work.

My deepest sympathies to his wife and children.
