Preitauer, Alwine 'Winnie' Franziska (nee Engelhard):
Passed away after a brief illness at Trinity Village Care Centre, on Sunday, December 31st, 2017 at the age of 81. Beloved wife of the late Gerry (2005). Loving mother of Shirley Kell (Jim) and Jeff Preitauer (Mickey). Beloved Nana to Shannon Preitauer (Tony), Kelly Hishon (Jim), Katie Kell (Jon), A.J. Preitauer (Amanda), Laura Kell (Dylan), Lisa Kell (Andrew) and Great Nana to Jake, Ryan, Jordan, Fionna, Harvey and Olivia.
Dear sister of Horst, Heidi, and Brigitte. Predeceased by her son Gerhard Mac, her sisters Marille, Hertha, Pia, and Inge, and her brothers Fredi, Kurt and Adi. She will be fondly remembered by all her nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. The family would like to thank the staff at Trinity Village for all the care and compassion given to Winnie during her stay.
Winnie's family will receive relatives and friends from 2-4 pm & 7-9 pm on Wednesday, January 3rd, 2018 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. A funeral service will be held in the chapel of the funeral home on Thursday, January 4th, 2018 at 4:00 pm. Reception to follow. Cremation and interment at Woodland Cemetery, Kitchener at a later date.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Grand River Hospital Foundation or the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
