Tremka, Dmytro:
Joining the choir of angels, our Stepdad and Granddad died peacefully at the Pinehaven Nursing Home, Waterloo on Saturday, November 18, 2017 at the age of 96. Beloved husband of the late Anastasia Tremka (Shurko) (June 2017) and Stephanie Tremka. Fondly remembered by his step-children Luba (Peter) Horspool, Vera (the late Don) Dietz and Roman (Charlotte) Shurko, grandchildren Shellee (Craig) Moser, Matthew (Tanya) Horspool, Lasha (Jamie) Keith, Marcus (Jessie) Dietz, Jason (Liz) Shurko, John (Ashley) Shurko and Johanna Shurko (Jimmy) and great-grandchildren Wade, Noah, Landon, Reid, Evan, Leah, Thomas, Olivia, James, Emily and Oliver. A special thank you to the nurses and staff at Pinehaven for the exceptional care they provided Dmytro over the past couple months.
Dmytro's family will receive relatives and friends from 7-9 p.m. on Thursday, November 23, 2017 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. Panakhyda will be held at 7:30 p.m.
A service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 24, 2017 at the Ukrainian Catholic Church of the Transfiguration, 131 Victoria St. S., Kitchener with Father Myroslaw Tataryn officiating. Reception to follow in the church hall, 15 Michael St., Kitchener. Private family interment at St. Volodymyr Ukrainian Cemetery, Oakville.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Ukrainian Catholic Church of the Transfiguration-Building Fund or St. Mary's Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
