Passed away peacefully at Grand River Hospital surrounded by the love of her family, on Thursday, November 2, 2017 at the age of 87 years.
Gwen is the beloved wife of the late Ivan McMahon (2011). Loving mother of Lorraine (Paul) Banton, Ron (Rita) McMahon, Marlene (Mark) Starr and Darryl (Sarah) McMahon. Proud grandma of Jason (Gwen) Banton, Mike (Amy) Banton, Kelly Banton, Shannon (Matt) Bruce, Danielle (Craig) Dunham, Brandon Starr, Chris (Krista) McMahon, Keegan, Riley and Emily McMahon as well as ten great grandchildren. Gwen was predeceased by her daughter Carolyn McMahon in 1980 and her brother William Smyth.
Gwen was a member of Creekside Community Church for many years.
Visitation for family and friends will be held at Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St., Kitchener (519) 749-8467 on Tuesday, November 7, 2017 from 11-11:45 a.m followed by a funeral service at 12 pm to celebrate Gwen’s life. Pastor Ken Taylor officiating. A reception will follow the service. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society - Breast Cancer can be arranged by the funeral home.
