Obituary for Marie Matilda Neeb

Marie Matilda Neeb
Neeb, Marie Matilda (nee Koehler)
May 18, 1920 – October 6, 2017

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother at Cambridge Memorial Hospital, Friday, October 6, 2017.

Marie was the beloved wife of Wilfred Neeb (March 24,1986) and cherished mother of Judith McLeish (Bruce) of Sault Ste. Marie, and Betty Neeb Brechun of Cambridge. She will be deeply missed by her grandchildren, Andrew (Kylie), Beth (Jake), Ben (Amanda), Matthew, Katherine (Daniel), and Sonya. She was so proud to be great-grandmother to Grace and Nora. She is fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews.

Marie is sister to Dorothy Knipfel of Waterloo and Vera Kraehling (July 5th, 2007) of Kitchener. Marie is the daughter of Astor and Elsie Koehler and grew up on the family farm in Wilmot Twp. She lived most of her life in Kitchener and the last 12 years at Luther Village in Waterloo.

Marie was a long-time member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Kitchener. She had a kind and nurturing nature, enjoyed gardening and cherished her family. She was engaged in life until her passing in her 98th year.

We are grateful for the excellent care Mom received at Grand River (Freeport), St. Mary’s and Cambridge Memorial hospitals. Special thanks to the caregivers at Saint Luke’s Place in Cambridge.

Family and friends will be received at Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St., Kitchener. Visitation: Thursday, October 12th, from 7 – 9 p.m. Funeral Service in the Chapel: Friday, October 13th, at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Mark Ehlebracht presiding.

Memorial donations can be made to Community Support Connections - Meals on Wheels, St. Peter’s Lutheran Church or the charity of your choice (cards available at the funeral home). Please visit www.henrywalser.com to view Marie's memorial.
