Passed away peacefully at Grand River Hospital on Thursday, October 5, 2017 at the age of 93. Beloved husband of the late Irene (2014). Loving father of Noemia Martins, and Edmund Viegas and his wife Maria. Proud Avo Ze of Ricardo and his wife Teresa, Andrew and Matthew. Cherished Vovo Ze to Carmela and Silvia. Survived by brother Joao Viegas and his wife Ilda. Predeceased by his parents, brother Manuel and sister Francisca. He will be sadly missed by his nieces and nephews. Special thanks to Dr. Rosenstein and the nurses and staff at the Grand River Hospital - Dialysis Unit as well as the nurses, PSW's and staff at Lanark Heights.
Jose's family will receive relatives and friends from 7-9 p.m. on Friday, October 6, 2017 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Aloysius Church, 11 Traynor Ave., on Saturday, October 7, 2017 at 10 a.m. Interment Woodland Cemetery.
