Passed away on Sunday, October 1, 2017 at Mercy Hospital, Buffalo, New York, at the age of 82.

Beloved husband of Ruth Cressman-English (nee Stevenson). Jim will also be missed by his faithful dog Zoi.

Dear father of Tanya Sullivan (Rod), Cynthia Bentzen (Mike) and Stephen English. Dear grandfather of Daniel (Bonnie) and Natalie Sullivan.

Dear sister of Joyce Kehn (and her late husband Richard).

Predeceased by his wife Marilyn (nee Lee) (2008) and parents Oliver (1980) and his wife Margaret (nee Watson) English (2006).

Jim was a musician and had a lifelong love of music. He played in many bands in Ontario, Alberta, Buffalo and California. He was an active member of the Masonic Lodge in London, Ontario and the Shriners Lodge in Calgary, Alberta. His passion was golf and was able to play year round in Elma, New York and Palm Springs, California in the winter. He was an originator and inventor having patented several of his ideas. Jim was also a published author. He was very active in the musical department in his church in California. He was loved and respected by all who were lucky enough to know him.

Jim's family will receive relatives and friends at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467 on Sunday, October 8, 2017 from 11:30 a.m. - 12:45 p.m. A memorial service will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday in the chapel of the funeral home followed by a reception. Cremation has taken place.

Interment at Union Cemetery, New Dundee.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
