Died peacefully at St. Mary’s Hospital in Kitchener after a brief illness in her 89th year.

Helen has gone to be with her Lord Jesus, to whom she devoted her life and all that she did. Born in Guelph Ontario in 1927, Helen is survived by her sisters Mary Lapshinski of Guelph, Jenny Burjoski of Kitchener and pre-deceased by her parents Michael and Annie, brother Alex Hoshooly and sister Annie Olynyk. She will be missed and very fondly remembered by her 8 nieces and nephews, many grand-nieces and nephews. Helen spent her life as the owner of Baby Point Beauty Salon in Etobicoke and was more than 40 years in her location there. She was a devoted member of St Cecelia’s Catholic Church and will be missed by her friends and members of her prayer group. Helen was a true character, friendly and welcoming, ready to strike up a conversation with anyone. She lived a humble life and believed in helping the poor. She was a vibrant soul who leaves behind a lifetime of memories and stories.

Helen's family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday, October 3, 2017 from 7-9 p.m. at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St., Kitchener, 519-749-8467. Parish prayers 8:30 p.m. Tuesday evening. Funeral Mass 11 a.m. on Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at St. Francis R.C. Church, 49 Blueridge Avenue, Kitchener.

Interment Woodland Cemetery, Kitchener followed by a reception at the funeral home.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to St. Vincent de Paul would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
