Condolence: Our deepest condolences to Hattie, Gary and family. This is one of those occasions when words, no matter how well-intentioned, are painfully inadequate. If ever a life was deserving of celebration, it was Terry's. This world is a much better and brighter place for his having been in it and he will be missed by many.

Condolence: Yesterday on the radio someone suggested that, how exciting or successful someone's life is can be measured by how far back he has to reach in his memory to find a recent moment of glory. I thought of Terry. All he would have to do is look around, no reaching required. He lived a dedicated, productive life of learning and sharing. When times became difficult he was still able to be an amazing source of positive moments for those around him. I watched his progress through twitter (that I signed up for just to stay in his loop)and was in awe of his brilliant mind being attacked and yet Terry's sharp and amusing (and way over my head) wit remained. I am sad for the family members who lost one of their own and my heart goes out to his girlfriend/fiance Julia, who was stalwart and brave in the face of heartbreak. All is Well, though it will take some time.
