It is with great sadness that the Vassell family announce the passing of a loving husband, father and grandfather, Alfred Leopold Vassell, (Bunny), at Sunnyside Home on July 14, 2017.
Alfred, 78, was predeceased by his wife of 40 years Loris May Vassell. He leaves behind children Jennifer and Morris of Toronto, Joan, Sharon and Alfred Jr. (Lil-Marie) of Kitchener. Alfred also leaves behind sisters Eva and Cecilia Vassell and Ezemenda Connell, brother William, nephew Alphonso Hylton (Alma a.k.a Dotty), and many other nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Alfred is predeceased by parents Daniel and Cecilia, brothers Vivian, Julius, Daniel, and Samuel and great-grandson Lucas.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, July 21, 2017 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m., and on Saturday, July 22, 2017 from 9:30-10:15 a.m. at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St., Kitchener, (519) 749-8467. Funeral service in the chapel of the funeral home on Saturday, July 22, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. Rev. Vincent Smith officiating. Interment will take place at Williamsburg Cemetery.
As expressions of sympathy, donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society of Waterloo Wellington (cards available at the funeral home).
