It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Thomas on Monday, October 30, 2017 at the age of 88. Beloved husband of Johanna Mary Agnes (nee Hopkins) for over 62 years. Loving father of Colleen Nora Kathryn Kleinsteuber, Heather Marie Kleinsteuber (Paul Neale), Teresa Johanna Purchase (Craig Chisholm) and Thomas George Kleinsteuber Jr. (Alison Cuthbertson). Proud grandpa of Robert and Steven Purchase and Dayna Rose and Shelby Shapiro. Dear brother of Shirley Nieder (Bill), Nancy Ping (Chuck) and the late Bertha Gilchrist-Tilt, Nettie Kinzie, Jean Kraehling, Ben Kent and Robert Kleinsteuber. Remembered by Gary Purchase (father of Robert and Steven). Son of the late Mabel and Frederick Kleinsteuber. Thomas was a longtime member of the Maryhill Knights of Columbus. For 40 years he was involved in the construction business, building many homes in the KW area. Special thanks to Dr. Yew and the nurses and PSW's who cared for Thomas.


Thomas' family will receive relatives and friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Thursday, November 2, 2017 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. Prayers 3:30 p.m. Thursday. Prayers will also be offered at the funeral home on Friday, November 3, 2017 at 10 a.m. followed by a procession to St. Anne's RC Church, 268 East Ave., Kitchener, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Reception to follow in the church hall.
