Passed away on Friday, October 13, 2017 at Sunnyside Home at the age of 89, six days short of his 90th birthday.

Beloved husband of the late Evelyn Bleaney.
Loving father of Douglas (Cathy), Gordon (Cathy), Ted (Wendy), Scott, Glen, and Tracey (Mike).
Cherished grandfather of Allison (Brent), Deanna (Aric), Laura (Ryan), Andrea (Jonny), Ellen (Phoenix, Al), Grace, Graham, and Jamie. Great-grandfather of McKinley, Jackson, Liam, Isla, and Leo.Predeceased by his siblings Dorothy, George, and Gordon.

Jim was a proud graduate of the Civil Engineering program at Queen's University. He enjoyed spending his vacations at the family cottage and always had a project on the go. He retired from a long and successful career as the Director of Public Works at the City of North York, spending his retirement reading, playing tournament bridge, golfing and travelling to far off corners of the world. He was a dedicated husband and family man who will live on in our memories for decades to come.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, October 21, 2017 from 12 -12:45 pm at the York Cemetery and Funeral Centre, 160 Beecroft Rd, North York. Memories will be shared at 1 pm followed by a private interment at York Cemetery. Cremation has taken place.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Alzheimer Society of Canada or the Sunnyside Foundation would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467).
