Obituary for David Neufeld

David Neufeld
Neufeld, David:
It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Dad and Grandpa. David Neufeld died suddenly but peacefully on Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at the age of 80. He was reunited into the arms of the love of his life of 59 years, Betty Neufeld (Aug. 5, 2014)
Loving father to Patti-Ann (Robert) Demers and Robbie Neufeld (Donna). Cherished grandpa of Cassandra, Samantha, Kiefer and Tyler.
Dear brother of Anna (the late Henry) Friesen, brother-in-law of Laureen (Larry) Lyman and Gail (Roy) Stewart.
He will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and neighbours.
Predeceased by his parents Abram and Maria Neufeld; brothers George (Gladys) Neufeld, Abram (Kay) Neufeld; sisters, Mary (John) Schmor, Helen (Albert) Stohr; his parents-in-law Charles and Hilda Jefkins and sister-in-law Ruth (Alex) Acorn.
He was a faithful member of Waterloo Mennonite Brethren Church. During his life he had many jobs but was best known for a lengthy career as a successful salesman in southern Ontario. He also enjoyed sports: volunteering as a manager in both Burlington and Kitchener minor hockey, and rarely missing any of his children’s or grandchildren’s games or events no matter when or where they were. As well, he was a big Toronto Blue Jays and Kitchener Rangers fan.
David's family will receive relatives and friends from 2-4 p.m. & 7-9 p.m. on Sunday, October 23, 2016 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. Funeral service will be held in the chapel of the Henry Walser Funeral Home on Monday, October 24, 2016 at 1 p.m. Interment Woodland Cemetery, Kitchener.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
