Condolence From: Pastor John Blackman
Condolence: When I was a wee college kid I played a couple of exhibition Basketball games against another Bible College. I got torched by a guy who was older, taller, stronger and far better than I was. He wore Kareem style sports goggles and was all business ...many years later he became a good and very encouraging friend in ministry in our Fellowship Baptist Tribe. He was definitely one of the good guys in my books and I will never forget Steve Baxter. ... Pam and Girls your tributes yesterday were so moving. I will remember the loaves and fishes miracle story the rest of my life. I may as well write "Steve Baxter" in the margins of my Bible right beside the passage, as soon as I finish writing this. I realized while driving home to Brooklin yesterday, that the biggest common interest Steve and I shared (that was such big a part of our friendship) was that I happened to care a lot about two significant ministry brothers of his. I hope that the teeming masses of people that have surrounded you in these recent days confirm that you are not the only three people in the world that know Steve really was a big deal!

Condolence From: Diann Deller
Condolence: Dear Pam, Erin, Andrew and Heather: We are so saddened to hear of Steve's passing. We remember Steve as an encourager to us when we were transitioning 28 years ago into a ministry position with what is now known as Southwestern Ontario Youth for Christ. He also reconnected with my Steve years later and was instrumental in bringing YFC to the community of Waterdown. I just found out that Heather works with my son-in-law, Jason Street. I went on the Grandview website and listened to Steve's last Sermon entitled, "Make My Life Count" - he stated that the goal of life is to see God glorified and not to glorify Self - that we are object lessons for God's glory. Well, Steve certainly practiced what he preached and was able to embrace God's Grace. It will be difficult to live without Steve's physical presence in your lives and we pray that you will be surrounded with love and peace in the days ahead. Praying for all of you - Steve & Diann Deller

Condolence: I'm so sorry to hear of Pastor Steve Baxter's passing. I attended Grandview church for a year, and he always had a kind and encouraging word for me when we spoke. Last year when my dad passed away, we had a talk. He was very supportive. I often listen to his sermons online, and will miss his charismatic and dynamic personality. I will keep his family in my prayers.

Condolence From: Keith Edwards
Condolence: To the entire Baxter family - I recall with great joy our fellowship many years ago in the north when you served First Baptist Timmins. Though our paths did not cross much in recent years, Steve's Christlikeness was abundantly evident whenever we met at conferences. A recent call in the summer months evidenced his care and love for Heritage students and staff who serve at Grandview. Though we confess "God moves in a mysterious way His wonders to perform..." we are grateful that we may prayerfully stand with you as you mourn this godly husband, father, brother, son.
