Passed away suddenly on Friday, April 8, 2016 at Grand River Hospital at the age of 63.
Beloved husband of 36 years to Susan (nee: Langdon).
Loving dad to Jessica Bowes (Alec) and Steven Demeter (Jennifer Webb).
Cherished Papa to Jack and Penny Bowes.
Survived by his brother Steve and his sister Ruth Demeter (Alan Guyatt).
Loving uncle to many nieces and nephews.
He was the owner of The Carpet Store for 25 years as well as a talented musician, actor, fisherman, golfer, friend and mentor - so many hats to so many people.
John's family will receive relatives and friends from 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. & 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. on Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held in the chapel on Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at 11 a.m. Reception to follow. Private cremation has taken place.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to Nutrition For Learning or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
