Born in Shakespeare, Ontario on October 17, 1926 having just celebrated his 91st year he passed peacefully at his home on Tuesday, December 5, 2017. A lifelong resident of Kitchener Waterloo he worked at Orr Automobiles for 34 years and donated his time back to the community through his work at Kiwanis. He was a member of the St. Mark’s Lutheran Church and the Air Force 404 Wing. Husband to the late Mary (1985) brother to Emily, Ruth, Ronald and Hark. Father to Susan Schnarr, Stephen Daub, Shelley Marchand, Sally Daub and Stacey Daub. Grandfather to Whitney Lord, Eric Schnarr, Ainsley Schnarr, Andrew Daub, Stephanie Daub, Emily Daub, Serena Daub, Nicole Marchand, Luke Marchand, Ben Marchand, Sebastian Schweigert, Jacob Daub, Mary Farvolden and Coleman Farvolden. Great-Grandchildren Walker Lord and Lucy Marchand.
A private family interment will take place.
Family and friends are invited to gather to celebrate Gerth's life on Saturday, December 9, 2017 from 11 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. at the 404 K-W Wing (510 Dutton Dr., Waterloo) Cremation has taken place.
In lieu of flowers, the family would request donations to Grand River Hospital Foundation, Community Support Connections - Meals on Wheels or Headwaters Health Care Centre Foundation (cards available at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 519-749-8467).
