PIHURA, Irene Pearl (nee Chornomaz):
Passed away peacefully and with dignity on Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at the age of 86. Loving mother of Dr. Mike Pihura and his wife Margo of St. Catharines, Steve Pihura and his wife Ola of Kitchener, Bill Pihura of Cambridge, Anne Dlugokecki and her husband Ron and John Pihura (special friends Michelle and Payten), all of Kitchener.
Predeceased by her beloved husband, John (2008). Cherished Baba of James (Stephanie), Sonya and Matthew, Taylor and Olivia, Jeff, Allison and Melissa and much loved great-granddaughters Eva and Cali.
lrene'’s family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday, September 17, 2017 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St., Kitchener, 519-749-8467. Panychyda 7:00 p.m. on Sunday evening. Funeral Service will be held on Monday, September 18, 2017, 10:00 a.m at the Ukrainian Catholic Church of the Transfiguration, 131 Victoria St. S., Kitchener. Fr. Myroslaw Tataryn officiating. Interment immediately after the service at Woodland Cemetery with reception to follow at Henry Walser Funeral Home.
Irene was a longtime faithful member of the Ukrainian Catholic Church of the Transfiguration, the Ukrainian Catholic Women's League of Canada and the Zustrich Senior's Club of the Church of the Transfiguration.
Donations in lrene's memory can be made to the Arthritis Society, Diabetes Canada, or The Ukrainian Catholic Church of the Transfiguration - Renovation Fund.
