McKie, Robert Alexander:
Passed away on Monday, February 26, 2018 at St. Joseph's Health Centre at the age of 89. Beloved husband of Dorothy for over 65 years. Loved father of Julie McKie (Tim McArthur) of Burlington, Wendy Thompson (David) of Tea Gardens, NSW, Australia, Sharon Hecktus (Tim) of Kitchener, Keith McKie (Rhonda) of Grand Valley, and Patricia Anderson (John) of Owen Sound. Cherished grandfather to 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Dear brother of Emily Finney and John McKie.
Predeceased by his son Robert in infancy and his parents, Alexander and Emily McKie and siblings, Hugh, Arnold and Donalda Hudlet.
Robert's family will receive relatives and friends from 2:30 p.m. - 3:15 p.m. on Friday, March 2, 2018 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. The Funeral will be held in the funeral home chapel at 3:30 p.m. Rev. Scott McAndless officiating. A reception will follow in the funeral home. Interment Preston Cemetery.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Alzheimer Society Waterloo Wellington would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
