Obituary for Janet (Joan) Rogerson Watson (Ross)

Janet (Joan) Rogerson Watson (Ross)
Watson, Janet (Joan), Rogerson:
1928-2017

With pride we share Mom’s life! Born in Scotland April 16, 1928 to George (Edinburgh & Toronto cop) & Janet Ross, raised in Toronto. In 1952 married Thomas Gordon Watson (1920-2010) together ran Gord’s Spur Harwood Road, Ajax until 1979. A month off every summer we CarV'd North America.
Home maker & fix-it girl, she & eldest added a 2nd bath. Mom’s taxi often forgot us. She raised beagles & cocker spaniels. Self taught, a life long swimmer. We treasured Mom’s vocation as seamstress, knitter & designer extraordinaire. Sweet tooth Mom shared Scottish shortbread & cakes hiding her main candy stashes.
In the 60’s Mom posted a smokers' lung on our door. In 1979 Mom & daughter attended College together. In 1998 a computer gift turned Mom into a techie – helping many.
At 89, “Joan’s lane” remains with her daily swim group at Queen Street, Kitchener.
Thanks to Dr. Hickman, CCAC, HPC, Closing the Gap, Care Partners & staff at Beechwood Manor Waterloo Mom’s final “place to call home” until August 20, 2017.
Loving Mother of James (Cathy) Waterloo, Ross (Jeanette) Port Hope & Jennifer Wright (Gord) Cambridge. Grandmother of Meghan (Kevin), James, Tara (Jeff), Christopher, Jesse (Shannon, great grandchildren Bennett, Kyle, Clark) & Leslie (Brad).
Mom & Dad taught us to love dogs, water, boats & life!
In Mom’s honour recite the 23rd Psalm. Donations to HopeSpring Cancer Support Centre would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the Henry Walser Funeral Home 519-749-8467). Private cremation taken place.
