Passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of family at the cottage on Friday, May 26, 2017 at the age of 81.

Beloved husband of Pat (nee Jadeski) Hess for 56 years.

Loving father of Greg Hess (Deb) of Sherwood Park, AB, Sharon Middleton (Ian) of Nobleton, ON., Jacqueline Madden (Paul) of London, ON and Joanne Davis (Steven) of Ile Bizard, QC. Grampa to Jessica, Brian, Blair, Drew, Tyler, Kelli and Kylie and Big Guy to Christopher, Kevin and Mark.

Dear brother of the late Frank Hess (Ginny), the late Joan Janzen (Peter), Bill Hess (Cathy), Doug Hess (the late Mary Beth), the late Connie Fraser (Steve).

Brother-in-law of Carl Jadeski (Margaret), Ed Jadeski, the late Bob Jadeski (Audrey), the late Connie and Murray Stockie.

Uncle and great-uncle to many.

Predeceased by his parents Harold and Catherine (nee Forwell) Hess.

Henry retired as Director of Operations, Horizon Poultry after 42 years service with J.M. Schneiders. He was life time member of Council 1504 Knights of Columbus, Kitchener. He was a long time member of Our Lady of Lourdes R.C. Church and the funeral choir of the church.

Henry enjoyed an active retirement travelling far and wide in support of his grandchildren's sports. He also volunteered as a driver with Waterloo Seniors, entertained with the Beer Belly Band and refereed and umpired for many years. He enjoyed hockey, golf, fishing, curling, skiing, and cheering on his beloved Red Wings.

Henry's family will receive relatives and friends on Monday from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St., Kitchener 519-749-8467. Parish prayers 8:45 p.m. on Monday evening.

Funeral Mass will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 30, 3017 at Our Lady of Lourdes R.C. Church, 173 Lourdes Street W., Waterloo, followed by a reception at Conestoga Place, 110 Manitou Drive, Kitchener. Cremation to follow.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to St. Mary's Hospital Foundation - Cardiac Care would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).

Special thank you to Dr. D. MacMillan, Dr. A. Almanfud, Dr. A. Yip, Dr. A Appelton and the C.C.A.C. of Kitchener and Lions Head for all their care and support especially helping make his last week at the cottage possible.
