Proud, Patricia 'Pat' (nee Jackson):
Passed away peacefully at the Village at University Gates, Waterloo, on Friday, December 1, 2017 at the age of 89.
Beloved wife of the late Rev. Arnold Proud (2014). Loving mother of Doug (Linda), Sue (Chris) Weber and Brent (Sue). Cherished Grandma to Jen, Owen, Megan, Melissa, Cassie and Emma and Great Grandma to Carter, Avery, Jaxon and Damien. Dear sister of Dr. Kenneth Jackson (Gina), Gwen (Frank) Hohmon, Verna (Russell) Linney and sister-in-law of Melville (Muriel) Proud. Predeceased by her parents Arthur and Sue, and brother-in-law Russell (late Pat) Proud.
Pat graduated from Toronto Western Hospital as a registered nurse and Toronto School of Nursing as a public health nurse. Pat and Arnold served 30 years in the ministry for the United Church of Canada in Rydal Bank, Teeswater and Niagara area before returning to Kitchener for retirement.
Pat's family would like to sincerely thank all of the nurses and support staff of Trinity Village, Grand River Hospital - acute care for elders and The Village at University Gates for the special care she received.
The Proud family will receive relatives and friends from 7 - 9 p.m. on Monday, December 4, 2017 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St. Kitchener. Visitation will continue on Tuesday, December 5, 2017 from 2:30 - 3:15 p.m. with her Funeral Service in the chapel at 3:30 p.m. followed by a reception. Cremation has taken place.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the United Church of Canada - World Development and Relief Fund or the KW Humane Society would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home)
