Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of John Downey can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Marj & Family: Jack (or Mr. Downey to me at the time) was my Grade 5 teacher at S.S.#3 Peel little country school (47-50 students at its' peak). Of all the teachers I had throughout my education, he was my favourite and the BEST! He made life-long impressions on me. Your son Tom was born that year and I can still remember him beaming as he told us of his birth! My brother Tom (d.April, 2016) in Grade 8 at the time, was so proud that you had chosen "his name" for your new baby! I will never forget Jack and send my love, prayers and sympathy as you mourn this significant loss. Rest in Peace Jack - you will have a special spot amongst all the teachers in Heaven!
