Voigt, Dieter Manfred

Passed away on Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at the age of 69. Dieter was born in Bochow, Germany and immigrated to Canada with his Mom, Dad and his sister in 1966. Survived by girlfriend Wendy Shamoon and her son John, sister Adelhaid (Heidi) Haas (Guenther), niece Krystal Tyler and her son Justin, and nephew William Eby (Karen). Dieter was predeceased by his dad, Fritz Voigt, and mother, Elsbeth Voigt. Dieter was a long time member of the Schwaben Dancers and Donauschwaben Dancers.
Long time member of the Kitchener Pioneer Lions Club and Dieter enjoyed playing pool at the Legion #50 Branch. He was also a long time member of the Polish Legion. Dieter enjoyed hunting and fishing and one of his great joys was to go to his farm in Owen Sound.
Dieter's family will receive relatives and friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Monday, April 17, 2017 and from 9:30-10:15 a.m. on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. Funeral Service in the Chapel on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. Interment St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery. Reception to follow at Henry Walser Funeral Home.
