Condolence From: Brian Black
Condolence: John taught me English for two years at Eastwood Collegiate in the early 1970s. He was a great teacher. I was more interested in mathematics than English. John showed me how to prepare for and write an English exam. Because of his efforts, my interest increased and my grades improved. John respected our opinions. Rest in peace, John.

Condolence From: The Riddell Family
Condolence: I have so, so many fond memories of John over the years I have been privileged to know him and his family! One of the things I loved most about John is his open smile and happy, excited and sparkling eyes...they always 'sparkled', whether he was having a simple conversation with us or was actually poking us with a fun point or response! He was a kind, considerate man who made all around him feel welcome. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of the Barnes family.

Condolence From: Lois Storozuk
Condolence: On behalf of John and myself, I want to send my condolences to the entire family. John was such a nice man. He had an infectious smile and seemed to always have one on his face. We know how proud he was of all his family and their spouses, but I think his grandchildren held the most special place in his life. He adored them and they adored him. He will be missed by everyone who knew him. We consider ourselves lucky to have been among those who called John a friend. God bless you all.
