Brown, F. Harry:
April 7, 1930 - March 3, 2018

F. Harry Brown, after a long and industrious life has gone to be with his Lord. He died March 3rd at Trinity Village LTC in Kitchener. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Nina Jean Brown (nee Hughes), wed for 65 years. Loving father of Judy Brown, Kim Brown (Loretta) and Hughbee Brown (Carolyn) and grandchildren Eric (Ariel), Alex (Jenna), Luke (Sarah), Samantha and Darian. Harry is remembered by his brother Clare and his wife Jean. He is predeceased by his eldest son Rick (1964), his parents Wilford and Lydia Brown, as well as his sister Olive, his brother Howard and his wife, Norma.

Born and raised near Tavistock, in his early adult years, Harry took on the family farm for a number of years. His love of singing drew him to the Oxford Junior Farmers' Choir where he met his future wife, Nina Hughes. They married in 1952 and had 4 children. In the early 1960s they moved with their children to Kitchener where Harry worked for many years at J.M. Schneider's. In his retirement he worked for M&M Meat Shops.

Harry and Nina are members of Calvary United Church. He was a member of the church choir, a tenor in the "Three Dads and a Lad" quartet. He served for many years as the song leader for the adult Sunday School. His music extended into the community as a member of the J.M. Schneider's choir. He and Nina frequently sang duets at weddings, funerals and special events.

One of Harry's and Nina's joys was cottage life in Southampton, it became their 2nd home. They spent many summers there making good friends over the years.

Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Harry's Life will take place on Friday, March 9, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. Reception to follow. Interment at Mount Hope Cemetery, Waterloo at a later date.
