Young, Barbara:
Barbara Ann Gladys Foster was born on March 5, 1932; she died on August 13, 2017. She was the sixth of seven children born to Thomas and Margery (Salisbury) Foster of London, Ontario. On May 24, 1952, Barb married Stanley E. Young in London. They had four children: Stephen, Terry, Susan, and Philip. All her life Barb loved participating in and watching sports. She particularly enjoyed playing softball (in her youth), bowling and badminton (as an adult), and she brought a competitive spirit to any game or sport she played. She loved to be in the sun, whether hanging up laundry, mowing the lawn, walking to the mailbox, or just sitting and enjoying a book. Summer vacations at the cottage in Sauble Beach were always a highlight. For the past ten and half years Barb resided at Lanark Heights until her death. The family is grateful for the good care she received there as she lived with the challenges of Alzheimer's Disease. Barb was predeceased by her husband Stan and her infant grand-daughter Sarah Elizabeth Blazek. She is survived by her four children and their spouses, eleven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Cremation has taken place.
A private graveside service and interment were held at Woodland Cemetery, Kitchener, on Wednesday, August 16, 2017, Pastor Melissa Richer officiating. Arrangements entrusted to Henry Walser Funeral Home, Kitchener, 519-749-8467.
